Seriously, if we're going to be buying English 2nd division players, why don't we just shop in the SPL?

For all the goal-counters, Conor Sammon has scored 16 goals in 24 games for Killie, none of which were penalties. He's tall, strong and mobile. He's available for half of Austin's fee and already knows the league.

Or there's Chris Maguire, a Scotland under-21 international, he's a Celtic fan and Aberdeen can't afford to keep him.

I don't really think these guys are good enough, but if we're going to be looking at players in the English 2nd division, why not?

Hooper kam aus der Championchip. Austin spielt beim derzeitigen 19. Swindon in der 1. Division.

Ganz stimmt des net,Hooper spielte letzte Saison bei Scunthorpe in der 1.Divison die sind ja erst jetzt in die Championship aufgestiegen.
Aber das heisst net das mann dort jetzt reihenweise spieler holen muss,vorallem net von Swindon die um den Abstieg kämpfen.
Ich darf auch dran erinnern das viele der User hier auch z.B den Sammon wollten,ich persöhnlich würde aus der SPL nur junge spieler mit perspektive holen oder halt erfahrene spieler wie damals Robson und Hartley die,die maschine nochmal zum dampfen gebracht haben.

Und Hooper hat auch schon in der Saison 2009/10 für Scunthorpe in der Championship gespielt. Er hat somit ein Jahr in der Championship gespielt und ist dann zu uns gewechselt.

Ok,dann war ich falsch informiert.
Trotzdem wĂĽrd ich nen Sammon einem Austin oder Phillips bevorzugen,ausser mann will richtig geld in die hand nehmen was eh net passieren wird

Ich würde einen Sammon auch eher nehmen als die beiden anderen genannten. Es sind ja noch ein paar Tage Zeit, unser Lenny hatte bisher, was die neuen Spieler angehen ein richtig gutes Händchen.

The most notable of these in recent times was the partnership of Andy Keogh and Billy Sharp who were sold on to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United respectively. Other notable strikers to have moved on from Scunthorpe United in recent years are Martin Paterson, Jermaine Beckford and Gary Hooper, the latter who moved to Celtic F.C for a fee of ÂŁ2.4 million.

Dimitar Markriev, the 6ft 4in Bulgarian international centre-forward, has admitted that he is relishing speculation over his move to Celtic. The former Inter Milan striker, who plays for FC Ashod in Israel, has been linked with a £550,000 transfer to Parkhead after being identified as a potential signing by the Celtic scouting network which recommended Beram Kayal to the club last summer. Markriev has been a prolific scorer in his three seasons at Ashod and yesterday welcomed talk of a move to Glasgow despite being under contract to his club until the summer of 2012. “My name is being connected with Celtic and, if that happens, it will be great for me,” said Markriev. “The president of the club is a very nice guy and he will understand my wishes. “This is an important period for my career. I’ve scored 50 goals in three years at Ashod, I’ve given my all to the team and now I want to take the next step. I will be delighted if a move to Celtic works out.”

Hmmm, ich geb ja nicht viel auf Gerüchte, aber dass da nur Stürmer auftauchen, IV Wilson wohl nicht im Januar kommt und IV Hooiveld weg ist, stimmt mich schon ein bisschen nachdenklich - auch wenn die Formation Wilson - Majo - Rogne - Emilio gut funktioniert hat. Aber was passiert bei einer Verletzung? Emilio und Wilson können durch Cha und Ledley ersetzt werden, aber die beiden IV? Da ist dann nur noch Loovens da!

Ein neuer Stürmer reicht mMn. Ich persönlich hätte nämlich nix dagegen, wenn Stokesey und Hoops unser Sturmduo bilden.

Sammy, Murph und ein neuer als Back-Up aber dann reicht es auch.

Oder ist ein Abschied von Sammy schon im Winter doch eingeplant?
